Greetings from Broken Arrow, OK! It's been a beautiful day. The kids played outside this afternoon for a good, long time while we played catch up on some long overdue chores.
For the purposes of internet safety, please let me (re)introduce you to our kids as they will be known here - Cinderella (age 16), Minnie Mouse (age 8), and The Great Brain (age 5). These days Cinderella is slowly preparing to someday be the Queen of her own domain. Minnie Mouse is having to learn that science is not the only subject she is going to need to learn in order to become Dr. Minnie later in life. The Great Brain is quickly growing into his fictional namesake.
We have much to be thankful for this week! I am particularly thankful to have my washing machine back in working order. James replaced the seal on the door, but the final step required a specific tool that had to be ordered online. With the correct tool, the final step of the repair took all of 10 seconds to complete. Too bad it took over a week for it to arrive.
James took the van in to have the oil changed this week, and the guys were amazed to find that our 2005 Dodge Caravan has successfully surpassed 350,000 miles and is still chugging along. Yes, we are saving toward a new (to us) vehicle so that when this one finally gives up we can replace it. We have a few people looking out for a good deal that will meet our needs as we travel an average of 25,000 miles per year for Awana.
We're closing in on the end of the Awana club year. Earlier this week we launched plans to begin short online workshops once a month to try to help leaders keep their skills sharp. Our first workshop will be held at 7pm on Thursday, March 29th. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get the link to join us.
